Claudio Bravo was the hero as Chile beat Portugal on penalties to progress to Sunday’s Confederations Cup final.

With the game ending 0-0 after extra time, Bravo denied Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Nani in the shoot-out, which Chile won 3-0.

The Blues ‘keeper impressed throughout. He made an excellent stop from Andre Silva after seven minutes when the striker looked certain to score from point-blank range after a brilliant ball across the box from Cristiano Ronaldo had taken out the Chile back four.

And early in the second half, he denied Ronaldo after the Real Madrid man unleashed a powerful drive from the edge of the box.

But the night will be remembered for his penalty heroics that mean Chile will face either Germany or Mexico in Sunday’s final in Saint Petersburg.

Portugal's Bernardo Silva, who will officially join City on 1st July, also impressed, despite not making the telling contributions he managed in Portugal’s previous two matches.

His ability to keep the ball in tight spaces is a joy to behold and City fans will enjoy watching him at close quarters next season.
